Happy Anniversary to the Love of My Life

Trey and I celebrated 6 years this past sunday September 28, 2008. I am so blessed to of have fallen in love with such a wonderful and loving man. Here is a funny story that some of yall might not know.

Oh how it all started:
Trey and I met in college. We lived in the same apartment complex and my apartment was caddy corner to his so we past each other all the time. Well we have a mutual friend named Jessica. Trey went to high school with her and I met her in college. Jessica and I hung out a lot.

So that gives you the setting. The story goes a little something like this. It starts as a tragedy and ends in a fairy tale. Ok Trey was known around campus as the guy with the white truck that had a hyperlight sticker on it. It was a very nice truck and loud so he stood out. So I would always see him driving around. One day while Jessica and I were out running around we pulled up to a red light and Trey was beside us on my side. Jessica rolls down her window to holla at him and then she introduces us and I said hey and rolled my eyes and up went the window. I did not want him to get a bigger ego than I thought he already had. :) So in between that time and the time when we met again my high school boyfriend and I had just broke up and I was upset as you can imagine. So Jessica came over to cheer me up and decided that I needed to go out. So she calls around and gets the low down of what everyone is doing and we get dressed and go out dancing. Trey was one of the people in the group that went out. I was not looking for anyone so I really did not care who was there but Trey did stand out and not in a good way. My first impression of him was oh what a jerk, he thinks he is Gods gift. When we were at the club we were both just hanging out and this really short guy came up to me to ask me to dance and I had to turn him down. I know it was mean of me but I can not dance with someone that I tower over. Trey hears me turn him down and then turns to me and says well I was going to ask you to dance but you will just say no. Ha ha. So that night ends and on come the next couple of weeks. I saw Trey out and about all the time. He ran everyday in the middle of the day and it always seemed to be when I was on my way back to my apt in between classes.

Then came Labor day weekend. Jessica and I were at the pool and Trey drives by. Jessica tells him to come down so he did. Well we talked and just hung out and then the three of us decided to go to dinner. So we all head home to get dressed and then Jessica calls me and says she cant go but Trey and I should still go, here is his number call him. I was thinking I am not going to call him. Then something told me to just call, so I did. He asked me if I still wanted to go out and so I said ya sure. Off we go. Now you all know the situation I am about to be in here. Is it a date, is it not, do I pay, do I let him pay. All these things are running through my head. We go eat at Texas Roadhouse and then the check comes. I offer to pay for my dinner and of course he says no. Oh boy I think what does this mean. Sometimes I just read toooo much into things you know. Somehow from that date forward we hung out all the time. We dated for a year and then got engaged for a year and graduated college and got married. So that guy that I thought I would never give the time of day to ended up being the love of my life. Isnt it funny how God has everything planned out. We just have to listen.

To Trey,

I thank God everyday for preparing you for me and me for you. These past 6 years (really 8 years) have been so wonderful. I know that we have had our ups and downs but that has just made us stronger. Our lives have been filled with so many blessings. Thank you for loving Christ and putting Him first. Thank you for taking care of me. Thank you for being such a wonderful father to your son. You bring laughter to my heart, which helps me to enjoy each day. I love you with all my heart.

Balloon Festival

Last weekend my mom and I took Cooper to his first balloon festival. Plano has a hot air balloon festival every year and so we thought he would enjoy seeing the bright colored balloons. My mom and I wanted to see them too. We took some cute pics of Coop at the festival as well.
Cooper got an upper respiratory virus over the weekend and had a nasty cough that lasted for a couple of days.
Not a lot has gone on this week. Trey's grandmother had surgery at the last minute for a pace maker but she is doing great now which is a blessing. I have been off work all week so Cooper and I have been going on walks, playing at home, and getting this place all packed up. The walls in the house are bare now. I still have soooooo much to do but a little at a time is better than doing it all at once, I think. Yesterday my oldest and best friend Renee came out to see Cooper and I and spent the day with us. Oh I wish we could do that more often.
The house is coming along well. They finally finished the brick, textured the walls, and put the doors and trim in. All the cabinets are in as well and look great. Hopefully I can get some pics of it over the next couple of days.

I think this is it for now. I have to work the next two nights so I am going to try to make Cooper take a few good naps for me today. Keep your fingers crossed.

Happy Half a Year!!!

Cooper is 6 months. YEAH!!!! He turned 6 months on 9/10/08. I don't know how much he weighs yet, we go to the doctor next week.
There is some fun things that he is doing now though. He is up on all 4's and rocking. He is getting so close to crawling I can not believe it. He is just babbling away. He is doing so good eating like a big boy. He eats oatmeal with some pears and applesauce. He is sleeping in his room now (ok well it is still a work in progress) He loves to grab your face and put his big wide open mouth on your check and give you a kiss. So sweet. He laughs at the dogs all the time. He wants to play with them so bad but they are just still not that into him. He loves to see his daddy walk thru the door when he comes home for lunch and at the end of the day. He grabs at everything. He is getting hair and it looks like it is going to be like a dark blonde and as straight as it can be. I think like mine but we will see. One of the funniest things he has done is this. On Sunday I was talking to him and he did something he should not have done (I don't remember what, prob pulled my hair) and I looked at him and I shook my head and said NO! Well then he started shaking his head. I thought well that was just a fluke. So then on Monday I did it again and he did it right back to me. It is the funniest thing. I must say NO to him alot for him to catch on like that. So now I have started to say YES and see what he does.
I am at work typing this so I cant post pics right now but I will post some later this week. We are going and getting pics taken on Saturday so I will post those when we are done.

House news: The brick is going up this week and sheet rock. The brick looks good. I always get really nervous before that start to put anything up. What if I don't like it, then it will cost me and trey a lot of money to change it. So so far so good. And no I have not packed a single thing. I am not going to be able to pack with Coop around. Coop's Nana is coming up next week so hopefully I can start then. We will see. I am not looking forward to packing.

Well that is all for now. Hope everyone is having a great week.

Grandparents and Great Grandparents

Lets start with some really good news. The house is officially no longer ours. We closed on the house last Tuesday and the buyers signed the papers on Thursday so it is all over YEAH!!! No more having to show the house I am sooo excited about that. We are going to stay in the next house until we die. I dont want to do that again. Our new house is still going good. We walked thru it last week with the builder to look over the framing and the wiring. So know they are going thru some inspections and then once those are done they will brick and sheetrock.

We went to Georgetown this past weekend for a long weekend to see Treys parents. We left Wednesday evening and then came back Sunday. We had a good time. Lets see Thursday we just hung out at the house. Coopers great grandma Sobotik was there and two of his great aunts so that was fun to watch them with Cooper. Then came some excitment. Thursday night we all went to bed and then at 2am Cooper woke up and so I asked Trey to get up and hand Cooper to me. So Trey gets up and grabs Cooper and as he was walking around the bed Trey hits his toe. He hands Cooper to me and then yells from the pain of the toe. He gets over that and then goes to the bathroom. Well while he was in there and I am feeding Cooper all of the sudden Trey falls to the floor like a tree falling. So I throw Cooper off of me onto the bed and run over to Trey to find him unresponsive. He was moaning and had all extremities extended and tight. So I ran out into the family room. (Treys parents house our bedroom is on one side and theirs is on the other) I screamed at the top of my lungs for them to come and then ran back into the room where Trey was. His aunt had heard me scream and went and got his parents and they called 911. Then Trey came to but could not tell me who I was for a little bit and then everything came to him. It was almost like he had had a small seizure. I know yall are thinking what is with them and seizures. :) So EMTs got there and took him to the ER. I was worried about his head and neck because of the way he fell. So after his stay everything checked out ok. They did not think it was a seizure they said a vagal response to him hitting his toe. The only thing was that Treys Ribs were hurting him very badly. They think that he broke one or some.
I just want my healthy husband back. He has just been hurt and had something going on with him for a year now. All starting with the car accident a year ago.

So back to some good stuff. We got to take Cooper out on Nana and Papa's boat on Saturday and he had fun and so did we. Then we took him swimming and he loved that. He has discovered that splashing is fun. Even if he gets himself wet and me. Then Sunday we stopped in Midlothian and ate dinner.
Now we are back and time to start a work week.
