Dancing Star

Cooper still amazes me. We got up this morning and came into the family room and I put him down to play. Well for christmas his Papa got him this toy that has a mirror and looks like your on stage. When you push the buttons it sings some catchy songs. Cooper pushed the button and then stood up in front of it and started dancing. He just kept lifitng up one foot then the other and was shaking his hips. It was just the cutest thing ever. I will have to try and get a video of it.

Christmas

Cooper's First Christmas!

We had such a great Christmas this year. We got to see both sides of the family. Christmas eve Trey's parents and his brother and sister came up to our house and we had a great dinner and opened presents and watched Cooper love opening his gifts and play with the paper. Then Christmas morning we woke up early and then headed down to my parents house and went to my grandmothers and had our christmas breakfast and then went to my other grandmothers and spent the rest of the day there. Cooper was soooo tired by the end of the two days. I think he is still trying to recover.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas.

Overdue Post

I have not posted in forever. Sorry about that.

I do have a great story tho. Last Saturday we had Treys parents pool table delivered to our house and it was some drama. To make a really long story short the movers ended up damaging the pool table, destroying my walls, and destroying the carpet. But the icing on top was when one of the movers took a fall down our stairs and we ended up having to call 911. Then when the EMT's took him away there was blood on my carpet. It was an absolute mess. So I had Trey pull the carpet on the landing where the blood was. So a brand new house with damaged walls and torn up brand new carpet. So now we are having to deal with trying to get this guys company to pay for the damages and all the crap that comes along with it. But it is not looking good. All of it just makes me so upset.

But on to some happy things. This weekend was crazy. My youngest sister Sara graduated yesterday for her undergrad at Hardin Simmons University in Abilene. So we drove Friday down to Abilene and that was a beating because of traffic and then we stayed the night with Sara and the had her graduation on Saturday morning. I am so proud of her. She is so smart and such a sweet person. She graduated with a 4.0 gpa and is now in physical therapy school at HSU.

After the graduation we loaded up and came back home because I had planned Treys 30th bday party for the same day as graduation. not planned that way. oh well. so we made it back to our house at 445 and the party was at 630. so we were running around like crazy. then the party started. It was so much fun. Thank you to everyone that came over and celebrated with us. We have such good friends.

Here are some pics.

Thanksgiving

Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving. Ours was good. Treys parents and sister came up to our house and we had it here. It was just us so it was a lot smaller than we are all used to. But since Cooper had been sick and was just getting better it was for the best. It was actually really relaxing. Janice, Emilie and I cooked the big dinner and it turned out really good. The only bad thing about the holiday was that papa (Vaughn) got really sick thursday morning and so he did not even get to eat with us and had to stay far away from all of us in case he was contagious. And Trey had really bad sinusitis and allergies all day so he did not feel that good either. So Emilie and I had to eat more to make up for them. :) Cooper had a great time on Thanksgiving. I let him feed himself and he loved it. He was covered in potatoes. It was the cutest thing.
So Friday we did not get up early to go shopping. I really did not see any great deals on stuff that we needed this year. I was bummed for that but then again it saved me money too. So later that afternoon we all went to Toys R us to shop for Coopers christmas. It was so much fun. We had three buggies. Trey and I got our Santa gifts, and you know how grandparents can be. He is going to have lots to open. How much fun.
I still need to post pics of the house I know. It is coming along good. I am pretty much unpacked. Now I am trying to figure out how I want to decorate this place. Some things from the old house just dont go in this house which is a bummer because that means I have to go buy things.
That is it for now. Just keep us in your prayers that us three do not get whatever Vaughn had when he was here. Especially Cooper.

We are IN!!!!

We are finally in our new house. We have been in since the 15th of this month and we are still unpacking. Unpacking is hard enough and then when you add a baby into the mix it is even harder. Janice came and stayed last week with us and watched Cooper while I unpacked and stuff and that was such a big help. Moving in went good, My cousin Amos came over and helped Trey move the big stuff and we can not thank him enough. They both did so good they did not break anything. The funny thing is I did. I broke our bed. I put a big crack on the headboard. Thank goodness for wood glue.

The other thing that has been going on is Cooper is sick. He has a bad cold. All last week he had a runny nose and just bad congestion. Then on Friday he started coughing pretty bad. Then Sat it just got worse. So we ended up taking him to the doctor and they put him on antibiotics and ear drops. It is now Monday and he is the same and the cough is worse I think. He just cries all day long. The antibiotics need to kick in. I hate seeing him like this and not being able to do anything about it.

It is the week of Thanksgiving and we have family coming up tomorrow and Wed. I am looking forward to some good stuffing and some turkey. The only bad thing is I have to work Thanksgiving night. But maybe I will be canceled. I am glad that we are not traveling with Cooper feeling the way he is.

Is anyone going to be crazy and go shopping on Friday. I am going to try. We need a TV and hopefully we will find a great deal. Well that is it for now I need to try and put Cooper down for a nap. Sorry no pics this time Cooper just has not been up for picture taking.

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.

Last week

This is our last week to be homeless. We close on the new house this Friday and move in over the weekend. I am so ready to get settled. The new house looks great. I just want to tell Alicia and Randy thanks for letting us stay with them for a month. I know that having the 2 of us and a baby was not easy. We are so very grateful to them both.

Cooper got his 2nd tooth in this week so he has been kind of grumpy but understandable. Only a whole mouth full to go.
We went to another college football game this past saturday and met up with some friends and had a great time.
Today Alicia got Cooper a new toy that he can practice standing up with and walking with. So we opened it up tonight and let him play with it and he LOVED IT. He just kept smiling and laughing. Thanks Aunt Alicia for the fun toy. Here are some pics

The day Cooper got his first tooth.

These pictures are of Cooper's friends from the class we go to every week. We decided to dress the kids up for class this week so we can get more us out of our costumes.

The little lady bug is Cooper's friend Addison and there is also Olivia and Ike in his class.

I will have more pictures of Cooper after tomorrow night.

1st Tooth

As of yesterday October 27th, Cooper has one tooth. We have been waiting for forever for this tooth to come in. Hopefully he will have a little bit of relief before the next tooth starts to push on thru. I have pics but I am at work typing this so I will have to post them when I get home.

We are finally living with my sister and brother in law. That means we are done with the old house moving out and cleaning. All that stuff that was making my life miserable last week. This week has gone better so far.
We are closing on the new house on Nov 14 so not much longer. The house looks great. It is done from what Trey and I can see. I think they have to do inspections now.

This past weekend was my 10 year high school reunion. Trey and I went with one of my oldest best friend Renee and her husband Brian. It was a lot of fun to hang out with them. It was good to see people that I have not seen in 10 years. It was funny tho to go around and everyone asked the same questions. What are you doing, where do you live, married, and have any kids?
I can not believe that it has been 10 years. So much has happened in that amount of time.
Graduated high school, graduated college, started a career, got married, traveled, bought a house, had a baby, bought another house. And there is so much more.
I better get back to work so that I can leave on time.

New Place

We are officially living with my sister now. I feel like I have fallen off the face of the earth this past weekend and this week. My life has been nothing but moving and cleaning. I am so very tired. Sorry to everyone that has tried to contact me and I have not called them back I just really have not had time. I get up early in the morning and head to the house and stay there all day doing things to get out of there and then I come home late in the evening and get Cooper ready for bed and then myself in bed. I guess that Cooper is not taking to this change in our life very well right now. His whole routine has been nonexistent and now he is sleeping in a room that is not his own. So like last night he was up every 30 minutes. I hope he will adjust soon.

We got news yesterday that we close in the new house Nov 14th. So we have an official date. Then we get to move all this stuff again.
That is all that I have for now. Cooper and I are about to head to the house to meet the carpet cleaning people. Hope everyone has a great day.

Crazy Busy

My life as just gone into absolute chaos. We have been sooooo busy. Between work and trying to move I am worn out and taking care of a baby that crawls. I am just tired thinking about it.

Let me go back a couple of weeks. On October 3rd Cooper went to his first football game. UMHB is the college where Trey and I went to school and they had a home football game that day against my sister Sara's college Hardin Simmons. We are rivals. And it makes it even more fun since my sister goes to one and we went to the other. We try to never miss this game. So we went and got Cooper some UMHB gear and went to the game. Sara and Jacob drove down for the game so we got to see them which was fun and they were even brave enough to sit with us on our side. They just wanted to sit with the winners. :) Thats right we beat them again. For some reason my batteries keep dying in the camera so I only got one picture I was so bummed.

Then there was last week. I worked 3 nights last week and that always makes me tired. But one of my best friends came into town last monday and came and stayed with us. It was so great to see her she lives in Houston and I just dont get to see her enough. I try to get her to move up here but she wont. So I think if I can find her a man up here she would. So if any of yall know of a single man yall let me know. Thats for you Kristi. :) Then my other best friend Shelley turned the big 30 this past week so on Saturday we went out to eat at Fogo de Chao and pigged out. Then I had to go to work after eating all that food. Oh it made for a long night I just wanted to crawl into my bed. So Happy Birthday to her and I hope that she has such a great year. Love you. Oh I forgot on Friday we went to the flower mound Pumpkin Patch with some girls from work and their kids and Cooper and I had a good time. He even picked out a little pumpkin. He was so tired when we left there.

So then we start this week. We are officially moving out of our first home this weekend. I am so sad. So many memories were made here. We are moving in with my sister Alicia in her house in plano until our new house is done. And so everything goes to storage and then we get to do this all over again. I am going to die in the new house. This moving thing is for the birds.
So if any of you strong men want to workout on Saturday you are more than welcome to come over and lift a hutch or couch or whatever :)

Ok that is my crazy busy life at the moment. and I think it will be like this for a while.

Crawling

As of last Thursday evening October 2 Cooper is crawling. Now the boy is everywhere. I am not sure if the dogs like it that he is crawling he goes after them all the time.

Yesterday Trey and I decided to do some moving out. So we loaded up a lot of stuff and moved it to storage. We are both very sore today. We move so much stuff and the house looks the same. :) it is amazing how much stuff you can accumulate over 5 years.
The new house is being painted this week so far so good. I know I have told many of you that I was really worried about the paint color I picked out because the walls are lighter than the trim. But I am liking it. Good thing right?

The Great Pumpkin

Today Cooper and I went to the Dallas Arboretum with our friends Jax and Shelley. We had fun walking around looking at all the pretty flowers and then having a photo session of the boys. Of course it was not easy to keep their attention. Cooper just wanted to play with the grass and the hay and Jax wanted to go to sleep. So we only got a few shots.

Happy Anniversary to the Love of My Life

Trey and I celebrated 6 years this past sunday September 28, 2008. I am so blessed to of have fallen in love with such a wonderful and loving man. Here is a funny story that some of yall might not know.

Oh how it all started:
Trey and I met in college. We lived in the same apartment complex and my apartment was caddy corner to his so we past each other all the time. Well we have a mutual friend named Jessica. Trey went to high school with her and I met her in college. Jessica and I hung out a lot.

So that gives you the setting. The story goes a little something like this. It starts as a tragedy and ends in a fairy tale. Ok Trey was known around campus as the guy with the white truck that had a hyperlight sticker on it. It was a very nice truck and loud so he stood out. So I would always see him driving around. One day while Jessica and I were out running around we pulled up to a red light and Trey was beside us on my side. Jessica rolls down her window to holla at him and then she introduces us and I said hey and rolled my eyes and up went the window. I did not want him to get a bigger ego than I thought he already had. :) So in between that time and the time when we met again my high school boyfriend and I had just broke up and I was upset as you can imagine. So Jessica came over to cheer me up and decided that I needed to go out. So she calls around and gets the low down of what everyone is doing and we get dressed and go out dancing. Trey was one of the people in the group that went out. I was not looking for anyone so I really did not care who was there but Trey did stand out and not in a good way. My first impression of him was oh what a jerk, he thinks he is Gods gift. When we were at the club we were both just hanging out and this really short guy came up to me to ask me to dance and I had to turn him down. I know it was mean of me but I can not dance with someone that I tower over. Trey hears me turn him down and then turns to me and says well I was going to ask you to dance but you will just say no. Ha ha. So that night ends and on come the next couple of weeks. I saw Trey out and about all the time. He ran everyday in the middle of the day and it always seemed to be when I was on my way back to my apt in between classes.

Then came Labor day weekend. Jessica and I were at the pool and Trey drives by. Jessica tells him to come down so he did. Well we talked and just hung out and then the three of us decided to go to dinner. So we all head home to get dressed and then Jessica calls me and says she cant go but Trey and I should still go, here is his number call him. I was thinking I am not going to call him. Then something told me to just call, so I did. He asked me if I still wanted to go out and so I said ya sure. Off we go. Now you all know the situation I am about to be in here. Is it a date, is it not, do I pay, do I let him pay. All these things are running through my head. We go eat at Texas Roadhouse and then the check comes. I offer to pay for my dinner and of course he says no. Oh boy I think what does this mean. Sometimes I just read toooo much into things you know. Somehow from that date forward we hung out all the time. We dated for a year and then got engaged for a year and graduated college and got married. So that guy that I thought I would never give the time of day to ended up being the love of my life. Isnt it funny how God has everything planned out. We just have to listen.

To Trey,

I thank God everyday for preparing you for me and me for you. These past 6 years (really 8 years) have been so wonderful. I know that we have had our ups and downs but that has just made us stronger. Our lives have been filled with so many blessings. Thank you for loving Christ and putting Him first. Thank you for taking care of me. Thank you for being such a wonderful father to your son. You bring laughter to my heart, which helps me to enjoy each day. I love you with all my heart.

Balloon Festival

Last weekend my mom and I took Cooper to his first balloon festival. Plano has a hot air balloon festival every year and so we thought he would enjoy seeing the bright colored balloons. My mom and I wanted to see them too. We took some cute pics of Coop at the festival as well.
Cooper got an upper respiratory virus over the weekend and had a nasty cough that lasted for a couple of days.
Not a lot has gone on this week. Trey's grandmother had surgery at the last minute for a pace maker but she is doing great now which is a blessing. I have been off work all week so Cooper and I have been going on walks, playing at home, and getting this place all packed up. The walls in the house are bare now. I still have soooooo much to do but a little at a time is better than doing it all at once, I think. Yesterday my oldest and best friend Renee came out to see Cooper and I and spent the day with us. Oh I wish we could do that more often.
The house is coming along well. They finally finished the brick, textured the walls, and put the doors and trim in. All the cabinets are in as well and look great. Hopefully I can get some pics of it over the next couple of days.

I think this is it for now. I have to work the next two nights so I am going to try to make Cooper take a few good naps for me today. Keep your fingers crossed.

Happy Half a Year!!!

Cooper is 6 months. YEAH!!!! He turned 6 months on 9/10/08. I don't know how much he weighs yet, we go to the doctor next week.
There is some fun things that he is doing now though. He is up on all 4's and rocking. He is getting so close to crawling I can not believe it. He is just babbling away. He is doing so good eating like a big boy. He eats oatmeal with some pears and applesauce. He is sleeping in his room now (ok well it is still a work in progress) He loves to grab your face and put his big wide open mouth on your check and give you a kiss. So sweet. He laughs at the dogs all the time. He wants to play with them so bad but they are just still not that into him. He loves to see his daddy walk thru the door when he comes home for lunch and at the end of the day. He grabs at everything. He is getting hair and it looks like it is going to be like a dark blonde and as straight as it can be. I think like mine but we will see. One of the funniest things he has done is this. On Sunday I was talking to him and he did something he should not have done (I don't remember what, prob pulled my hair) and I looked at him and I shook my head and said NO! Well then he started shaking his head. I thought well that was just a fluke. So then on Monday I did it again and he did it right back to me. It is the funniest thing. I must say NO to him alot for him to catch on like that. So now I have started to say YES and see what he does.
I am at work typing this so I cant post pics right now but I will post some later this week. We are going and getting pics taken on Saturday so I will post those when we are done.

House news: The brick is going up this week and sheet rock. The brick looks good. I always get really nervous before that start to put anything up. What if I don't like it, then it will cost me and trey a lot of money to change it. So so far so good. And no I have not packed a single thing. I am not going to be able to pack with Coop around. Coop's Nana is coming up next week so hopefully I can start then. We will see. I am not looking forward to packing.

Well that is all for now. Hope everyone is having a great week.

Grandparents and Great Grandparents

Lets start with some really good news. The house is officially no longer ours. We closed on the house last Tuesday and the buyers signed the papers on Thursday so it is all over YEAH!!! No more having to show the house I am sooo excited about that. We are going to stay in the next house until we die. I dont want to do that again. Our new house is still going good. We walked thru it last week with the builder to look over the framing and the wiring. So know they are going thru some inspections and then once those are done they will brick and sheetrock.

We went to Georgetown this past weekend for a long weekend to see Treys parents. We left Wednesday evening and then came back Sunday. We had a good time. Lets see Thursday we just hung out at the house. Coopers great grandma Sobotik was there and two of his great aunts so that was fun to watch them with Cooper. Then came some excitment. Thursday night we all went to bed and then at 2am Cooper woke up and so I asked Trey to get up and hand Cooper to me. So Trey gets up and grabs Cooper and as he was walking around the bed Trey hits his toe. He hands Cooper to me and then yells from the pain of the toe. He gets over that and then goes to the bathroom. Well while he was in there and I am feeding Cooper all of the sudden Trey falls to the floor like a tree falling. So I throw Cooper off of me onto the bed and run over to Trey to find him unresponsive. He was moaning and had all extremities extended and tight. So I ran out into the family room. (Treys parents house our bedroom is on one side and theirs is on the other) I screamed at the top of my lungs for them to come and then ran back into the room where Trey was. His aunt had heard me scream and went and got his parents and they called 911. Then Trey came to but could not tell me who I was for a little bit and then everything came to him. It was almost like he had had a small seizure. I know yall are thinking what is with them and seizures. :) So EMTs got there and took him to the ER. I was worried about his head and neck because of the way he fell. So after his stay everything checked out ok. They did not think it was a seizure they said a vagal response to him hitting his toe. The only thing was that Treys Ribs were hurting him very badly. They think that he broke one or some.
I just want my healthy husband back. He has just been hurt and had something going on with him for a year now. All starting with the car accident a year ago.

So back to some good stuff. We got to take Cooper out on Nana and Papa's boat on Saturday and he had fun and so did we. Then we took him swimming and he loved that. He has discovered that splashing is fun. Even if he gets himself wet and me. Then Sunday we stopped in Midlothian and ate dinner.
Now we are back and time to start a work week.
